We understand how important it is to guard your home from the unexpected, so you have the reassurance that there's a back-up plan in place should something go wrong.

It’s important to find cover which suits the unique nature of your home, with factors such as where you live and the type of house you live in. These factors and more all have an impact on which risks are most likely to affect you. For example, if you live in a high flood risk area, this would need to be accounted for in your policy more so than other households in low-risk locations.

Whether you want to protect your buildings, contents or both, our dedicated insurance professionals will help you to determine the exact policies and cover limits you need – without a call centre in sight. We always offer transparent advice and will never attempt to encourage optional extras if we feel they will be of no benefit to you.

When arranging home insurance through NC Insurance, you can expect unbiased, honest advice delivered by industry professionals. Cover can include:
      • Buildings cover only

      Home Insurance FAQ's
      Is home insurance compulsory?
Home insurance is not a legal requirement, although a mortgage lender may insist you have buildings cover in place to cover the cost of a complete rebuild should something happen.
What if I make changes to my property?
If you decide to alter the structure of your premises by building an extension or conservatory just let one of the team know and we will update the information with your insurer on your behalf.
Do landlords & tenants need home insurance?
Tenants do not need to purchase buildings cover as this is the responsibility of the landlord, instead its worth purchasing contents cover for the property within the buildings. Landlords should look to purchase landlord insurance for their properties as this will be more suited to their distinct needs.
What is accidental damage cover and do I need it?
Accidental damage is usually defined as an unintentional one-off incident that harms your property or it’s contents. This usually includes cover for key items in the home such as televisions and home entertainment but exclusions vary depending on the insurer.

Escape of Water – The cold winter weather causes a pipe to burst in your home resulting in a large escape of water
Fortunately the property owners had suitable home insurance covering them for damage caused by an escape of water. The cost of finding and fixing the leak was covered, as well as the damage caused to the building and contents.
Wind & Hail – A large storm causes a tree to fall onto your house destroying your roof
With appropriate home insurance you will be covered for the damage caused by a large storm or extreme winds, the insurer will cover the costs of fixing the roof and paying for any broken or destroyed contents inside the premises.
Theft – A burglar enters your property whilst you are away, the thief proceeds to steal several items of jewellery and some electronics including a laptop and printer
With home insurance the cost of replacing the stolen items will be covered and so will any damage caused to the building by the intruder upon entering.
